---- — CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire’s Pease Air National Guard base is one of five locations still in the running to becoming the home base for a new fleet of refueling tankers.
U.S. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Kelly Ayotte said Wednesday that the Air Force will conduct detailed surveys of each base. The selected base will receive aircraft beginning in fiscal year 2018.
Both senators have worked to advocate for Pease, which is home to the New Hampshire National Guard’s 157th Air Refueling Wing. They say it would be an ideal home for the new KC-46A tankers, which will replace the type currently flown out of Peace.
