WINDHAM — Police asked staff and students to stay inside Golden Brook and Windham Middle schools yesterday morning, after yet another report of gunfire.
It was the third time in a week police responded for a report of gunshots nearby.
Windham police found no one near the schools when they checked.
“There was no official lockdown and we were unable to determine where the shots were coming from,” Windham police Capt. Mike Caron said. “They were heard by officers and they determined the shots were a distance away from the schools and posed no threats.”
Pelham police, who had found five men target shooting Tuesday in a Pelham neighborhood near the schools, also responded, but did not locate anyone in the neighborhood.
“They couldn’t find anything,” Pelham police Lt. Gary Fisher said.
In addition to the incident Tuesday, police also responded to Windham schools Jan. 2.
