---- — PLAISTOW — Plaistow Public Library has a lot happening before the holidays.
Card-Making with Lorraine McNulty and Colleen Ferrante meets Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m.
Participants will make two each of four designs for a $15 materials fee. Space is limited to 15, so register online in advance. Bring papercraft adhesive and scissors. This is an adult-level class.
Two short holiday films will be shown Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served, provided by the library.
The library’s December artist is Susan Lindblad. Susan has lived in Plaistow since 1976. She began painting three years ago at the age of 62 and she paints almost every day.
She has used pastels and watercolors, but prefers painting in oils.

“Stories with Savannah” is Monday, Dec. 17, for ages 7 and up. Read privately with this very special black Labrador retriever therapy dog and her handler. Choose your own books, relax, and cuddle with Savannah, and practice your reading skills.
Registration is required; four 15-minute time slots are available.
New magazine subscriptions for 2013 are beginning to arrive. Thanks to Tom Cullen for his donation of “Ireland of the Welcomes.” New titles will be available for circulation in January.
Come in and try out the Kindle or Nook to get an idea for family gifts. The eReaders are available for checkout.
Want Percy, the library mascot, to have Christmas with you and your family? He’s available; stop by to book the dates you’d like to have him.
Missed the Scholastic Book Fair? The library’s ongoing book sale is a great place to pick up bargains. A variety of books in excellent condition are being donated every day.
Cribbage meets Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. Come to the library to sharpen your cribbage skills and socialize. Snacks and drinks provided by Plaistow Recreation and the library.
Join us for LEGO/Wii Fridays to build with the library’s large LEGO collection or challenge yourself to a game of Wii. Preschool children meet from 1 to 2:30 p.m.. and school-aged children from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
The library will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 for Christmas.
