The Eagle-Tribune

---- — SALEM, N.H. — A house on S. Policy Street was burglarized during the day yesterday, the fourth such crime this week.

Deputy police Chief Shawn Patten said a side door at the house was kicked in. Although police did not yet have a monetary value for the items taken, Patten said those losses included jewelry.

On Wednesday, homes on Howard and Pleasant streets were burglarized, also during the day. In the Howard Street case, the front door of the home was kicked in and about $2,000 worth of goods taken, including a computer, jewelry and credit cards.

The burglar or burglars on Pleasant Street forced open a window off a porch, police said, and stole a checkbook.

The first daytime burglary of the week was Monday on Pelham Road. In that case, the homeowners left the house unlocked. When they returned, they found several thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, silver certificates and silver coins missing.

Police have not identified any suspects in the burglaries, nor do they have any witnesses. Anyone with information on any of these burglaries is asked to call police at 893-1911 or the Southern NH Crimeline at 893-6600.
