---- — SALEM — Reading paid off for fourth-graders at Mary Fisk Elementary.
Students in the K-5 school worked for five weeks to see which class recorded the most minutes of reading at home. Ellen Potts’ fourth-grade class came out on top with 9,070 reading minutes.
As a reward, those students could choose a school staff member to wrestle principal George Murray. The students selected secretary Pauline Field.
Murray and Field donned sumo wrestling suits Friday and stepped into the ring, much to the delight of the assembled students.
