---- — HUDSON — A Londonderry woman escaped injury when a motorcyclist ran a red light Saturday evening and struck her 2007 Nissan Maxima.
Amanda Kuhlman, 27, was traveling south on Library Street when Alexander Pelkey, 21, of Nashua drove into the intersection with Ferry Street and struck her car, Hudson police said.
The accident occurred at 6:38 p.m. Saturday.
Police said Pelkey, who was not wearing a helmet, was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson west on Ferry Street when the accident occurred.
Pelkey was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for treatment of potentially serious injuries, according to police. Early yesterday, he was released from the hospital with reportedly minor injuries. Kuhlman, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.
Police determined Pelkey had been drinking. After his release from the hospital, he was taken to the police station and charged with aggravated DWI.
Pelkey was released on $1,500 personal recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in 9th District Circuit Court in Nashua April 1.
The Hudson Police Department Crash Investigation and Reconstruction Team responded to the scene, and portions of Library and Ferry streets were closed to traffic until 9:30 p.m.
