SALEM — A Windham man may be charged for causing an accident Monday evening, Lt. Robert Morin said.
Craig Bowles, 44, of Windham was driving a Cadillac north on Brady Avenue at 6:11 p.m. He turned left onto Route 38. Jeffrey Kapo, 42, of Pelham was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Route 38.
Morin said the sun was setting and may have been the reason Bowles didn’t see the motorcycle. Regardless, he failed to yield the right of way, and the Harley and the Cadillac collided.
Kayo was thrown from his motorcycle, landing on a nearby lawn. Rescue personnel thought Kayo might have broken his legs, Morin said, and he was taken to Lawrence General Hospital. He suffered only minor injuries and was released.
Bowles went voluntarily to Parkland Medical Center for blood testing, Morin said. Police don’t believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, he said.
“It remains under investigation and Bowles could be cited. He was at fault,” Morin said. “Fortunately, the operator of the motorcycle sustained only bumps and bruises.”
