NEWTON — Longtime Sanborn Regional School Board member James Doggett is fending off a challenge for his seat.
Doggett, a board member for 24 years, is running against Renee King to keep the three-year Newton seat. The election is Tuesday.
He has a long record of public service. Doggett has served nine years on the Planning Board and five years as a trustee of trust funds. He’s also a past cemetery trustee.
King, who has a business background, has never served in elective office. Jason Faria and Jon LeBlanc are running for a three-year seat on the board representing Kingston.

What do you plan to do if elected? I will continue to work to provide our students with the high quality education they deserve balanced with what our taxpayers can realistically afford.
