Atkinson Budget Committee seats up for grabs

ATKINSON — Newcomer Harlan Cheney is challenging two incumbents for one of two seats on the Budget Committee.

Susan Carroll and Bill Smith are seeking re-election to another three-year term.

Each candidate stressed lowering taxes as a major part of their platform.

What is the most important issue facing the Budget Committee? Spend responsibly. Limit spending to essentials. Limit suffering of residents losing their homes. We’ve been successful for three years. Low taxes result from low spending.

What is the most important issue facing the Budget Committee? The Atkinson Budget Committee must be committed to the continuation of and adherence to policies that perpetuate the lowest property taxes in southeastern New Hampshire.
