---- — DERRY — Police and firefighters, town officials and representatives from Honor Flight New England will be on hand Thursday when Ocean State Job Lot opens at 30 Manchester Road.
It is the company’s 10th store in the state, one of 106 throughout New England and New York.
Thirty full- and part-time employees are readying the 41,000-square-foot store, former home to Wal-Mart, for the grand opening.
The company will donate a truckload of food to the N.H. Food Bank and make a monetary donation to Honor Flight New England as part of the opening day events. Doors open at 8 a.m.; a ribbon-cutting is planned for 10 a.m.
The building only required minor renovations, according to Ocean State construction/project manager Scott Crawford.
“We have been busy training new associates, stocking the shelves with our everyday and seasonal brand-name merchandise, and readying the store for the past few months in preparation for our official grand opening,” manager Marcel Cote said. “The entire Derry community has been very supportive of our impending opening and we’ve hired a great group of associates to work with us here.”
Job Lot, which specializes in closeout prices, offers pet supplies, clothing, household items, food and seasonal items. The company is headquartered in Rhode Island.
The store will be open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
