Woman jailed on multiple charges

WINDHAM, N.H. - Police arrested a Lawrence woman on seven charges early Thursday morning, including driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property.

Roxanne Rodriguez, 24, of 28 Chestnut St., was arraigned later that morning in Derry District Court and transported to Rockingham County House of Corrections, after she failed to make bail - $2,500 on the new charges and $5,000 from an earlier case.

At about 2 a.m., a Windham police officer noticed Rodriguez's car, a black 1995 Honda Prelude, in the breakdown lane of Anderson Road, with the door open, and the driver leaning outside and hunched over with a large beer can inside the car.

The department's dispatcher had received a report from Hudson police that someone in a black Honda had stolen beer from a Cumberland Farms in that town.

The officer said Rodriguez lied to him about her name, failed a field sobriety test and tried to kick him.

Later, when Rodriguez gave her correct name to police, they learned her license was under suspension for driving while intoxicated and that Plaistow District Court had issued a bench warrant for her arrest.

The charge was unavailable, but there was $5,000 cash bail connected to it, police said.

Rodriguez was charged with driving after revocation or suspension, disobeying an officer, transporting an alcoholic beverage, and on the bench warrant.

She is scheduled for trial March 4 in Salem District Court.
