PLAISTOW — Football and drugs don't mix.
One Haverhill, Mass., teenager was arrested and three others were taken into protective custody at the Timberlane Regional High School football game Friday night, police said.
Zachary Brown, 17, of 33 Lewis St., was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of tobacco by a juvenile, Deputy Chief Kathleen Jones said. Brown had the drugs on him, and the juveniles with him were taken into protective custody and released to their parents but not charged, she said.
Brown was charged with possession of tobacco because he was both underage and because it's not allowed in a school zone, Jones said.
School Resource Officer Joan Marsilia found the group in a far-off field at the Greenough Road facility, Jones said. Marsilia rides the grounds on an all-terrain vehicle during outside events at the school, she said.
No further details about the arrest were available.
