Donate jackets, food in Hampstead Saturday

HAMPSTEAD — Knights of Columbus Council 9058 will be holding two collection drives Saturday.

The first is the council’s annual Jackets for Kids Drive. They will be accepting clean, usable children’s jackets for the children of needy families in the local communities. No other clothing will be accept.

For the other drive, members of the Knights of Columbus will be accepting gifts of nonperishable food and other items to benefit the greater Manchester homeless veterans housed and supported by Liberty House in Manchester.

Critical items include jelly, canned fruit, pasta, cereal, cookies and more.

Both collections will take place downstairs at St. Anne’s Catholic Church from noon to 5:30 p.m.

Meat raffle will help fire victim

PLAISTOW — The Plaistow Lions and American Legion Carl G. Davis Post 34 will be hosting a meat raffle tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Carl G. Davis Post 34.

All proceeds from the meat raffle will be given to Billy Bartlett, who was seriously injured in a house fire in Plaistow in May.

Harvest Fest is Saturday in Windham

WINDHAM — Harvest Fest is set for Saturday at Griffin Park.

Festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. with the doggie costume parade. Beginning at 1 p.m. there will be hay rides, activities, games, crafts and face painting. Girl Scouts will host a pie baking contest.

There will be food, music and more.

Enjoy a pasta supper in Plaistow

PLAISTOW— The Deacons of the First Baptist Church, Plaistow will host a pasta supper on Saturday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will include pasta with meatballs and sausage, salad, garlic bread, assorted desserts and beverages.

Tickets are $10 per person, $6 per child, with a $30 maximum for a family. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door, the night of the supper. Proceeds from the supper will be used by the deacons to help local families in need.
