Windham firefighters will wear pink

WINDHAM — Windham firefighters will wear pink shirts Oct. 20-26 in support of breast cancer awareness.

Windham Professional Firefighters’ Local 2915 designed the shirts with a Maltese cross that reads, “Windham Fire Cares Enough To Wear Pink,” and “Awareness-Hope-Rescue-Love.”

The back of the shirt says, “Supporting the Firefighters, Admiring the Survivors, Honoring the Taken, and Never, Ever Giving Up Hope.”

Atkinson looks for interim selectman

ATKINSON — Selectmen are looking for a candidate to serve as an interim selectman until Town Meeting in March.

The person will replace Todd Barbera, who died from cancer last week.

Interested candidates are asked to submit a resume and letter of interest to Barbara Snicer at bsnicer@atkinson-nh.gov. They may also mail it to Town Hall at 21 Academy Ave.

Take a ‘Spooky Walk’ through forest

SANDOWN — Sandown Boy Scout Troop 268 is hosting a Spooky Walk in the town forest tomorrow.

From 5 to 7 p.m., it’s the Not So Spooky Walk. From 7:15 to 9 p.m., braver souls can try the Spooky Walk.

Tickets will be sold at the gate. Refreshments will be available. The rain date is Oct. 26.

Hampstead Lions need your support

HAMPSTEAD — Hampstead Lions Club members will be out and about tomorrow from 8 a.m. to noon for White Cane Collection Day.

Funds donated will be used to help those in need in the community.

Look for the Lions at Dunkin’ Donuts, Walgreens, TD Bank and Hampstead Central Market.

Youth group hosts bake and yard sale

PLAISTOW — The Rock youth group will hold a yard and bake sale tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rock Church, 90 Newton Road, rain or shine.

Donated items for either sale can be dropped off at the church tonight between 5 and 6.

Support 4-H, horse rescue tomorrow

SANDOWN — Patch Wood Farm is hosting its third annual Open Farm Day tomorrow from noon to 4 p.m.
