---- — SALEM, N.H. — Police are investigating the third incident of indecent exposure/lewd activity in the past several months at Barnes & Noble, 125 S. Broadway.

There have been three documented incidents at the bookstore since June, Deputy police Chief Shawn Patten said, with what are believed to be three different suspects.

The most recent incident occurred just past 8 p.m. Tuesday when police were called to the store for a report of indecent exposure, Patten said.

A woman was sitting on the floor reading at 7 p.m. when an older man with curly gray hair, wearing shorts, approached her, police said. The suspect knelt down beside the woman, exposed himself and started to masturbate, according to police.

The victim told police she threw the book onto a shelf and ran to find a store employee. The man fled the store.

Detectives are trying to identify the man shown in a surveillance photo. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Robert Genest at (603) 8890-2381.
