Pelham library offers summer reading fun

---- — PELHAM — Registration for the Pelham Public Library’s summer reading program begins Monday.

“Just Dig It,” is the theme for the first week, which focuses on gardening. The program is open to all ages, preschool to adult.

Kingston hosts ‘wild’ photo contest

KINGSTON — The Conservation Commission is hosting its second annual Wild Kingston Photo Contest.

Up to three photos per individual will be accepted until June 30. Photos may be taken with a digital or film camera, but only prints may be submitted.

The photographs must be taken in Kingston and will be judged in two amateur age groups: youth (under 18) and adult. The categories are: wildlife; landscapes or waterscapes; and wild plants.

Prizes will be awarded during Kingston Days in August, and an exhibit of work will be displayed that month at Kingston Community Library.

Register now for Atkinson summer camp

ATKINSON — The Atkinson Recreation Commission is accepting registration for its summer program ,”Sun ‘N Fun.” This year’s program runs from July 1 to Aug. 9 at Woodlock Park.

The program is offered for Atkinson children entering grades kindergarten to ninth grade in the fall. For children entering kindergarten, the program goes from 9 a.m. to noon. For children entering grades first to ninth grades, program runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The cost is $195 for one child, $280 for any two children, and $350 maximum per family for six weeks. Registration forms are available at Atkinson Town Hall, Atkinson Community Center or at town-atkinsonnh.com. Registrations must be received by Monday. Hone skateboarding skills in Pelham

PELHAM — Skateboard Camp will be held the week of June 24 at Lyons Memorial Park.

Woman’s Club awards scholarships

WINDHAM — The Woman’s Club has awarded two $1,500 college scholarships to Christine Carpenter and Morgan Barry.

Carpenter, daughter of Alan and Diane Carpenter, will attend Lafayette College. Barry, daughter of Richard and Maria Barry, will attend Boston University.

Atkinson women’s club heads to Newport

ATKINSON — The Atkinson Women’s Civic Club will be taking a trip to Newport, R.I., on June 22. The group will visit Newport Flower Show and have plenty of free time to shop and dine in downtown Newport.

The cost is $58, which includes all deluxe transportation, admission to Newport Flower Show, games, door prizes, raffles, a movie, soft drinks, wine and appetizers on the ride home. The coach bus will leave from the Atkinson Community Center at 9 a.m. and return by 7 p.m.
