PELHAM — Police have announced traffic restrictions following the Independence Day Celebration, July 3.
Traffic from Pelham Elementary parking lot, Pelham Memorial School parking lot and Sawmill Road will be directed north on Marsh Road toward Pelham Center.
Traffic from Pelham High parking lot, Michelle Avenue, Economou Drive, Theodore Street and Burns Road will be directed south on Marsh Road.
Parking will not be allowed in Gibson Cemetery or on Marsh Road between Old Bridge Street North and Willow Street.
Once the fireworks start, at about 9 p.m., Marsh Road will be closed to incoming traffic at Willow Street, Old Bridge Street North and Burns Road, as will Main Street at Bridge Street.
Windham Road-Main Street-Nashua Road traffic at Pelham Center will be redirected away from Pelham Center.
The rain date is July 6.
Boats will parade on Canobie Lake
SALEM — The Canobie Lake Protective Association will hold its annual boat parade 1 p.m. Thursday, July 4, from Rocky Point.
Prizes will be awarded for patriotic decorations of boats. Shoreline observers are encouraged to wave and cheer.

Summer book discussion July 9
HAMPSTEAD— Hampstead Public Library will have a summer book discussion on July 9 at 6:30 p.m.
The featured book is “Call Me Amy” by Marcia Strykowski. This event is appropriate for kids who will be entering middle school or high school, but adults are also welcome to attend.
Copies of this book are available at the library. Come and discuss the book with the author, and enjoy some homemade treats that are featured in the novel.
