Plaistow Farmers market seeks vendors

---- — PLAISTOW — The Plaistow Farmers Market will be held on the Town Green, beginning Aug. 1. It will run through Oct. 3.

The market is looking for local farmers with vegetables, fruits or flowers who would be interested in participating, as well as local artisans.

The Farmers Market will be held Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m.

Movie nights in Newton

NEWTON — The town is showing movies at Greenie Park.

“Mars Needs Moms” will be shown Thursday, July 25. The rain date is Sunday, July 28.

“Everyone’s Hero” will be shown Thursday, Aug. 22. The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 25.

The movies start at dusk. Residents are encouraged to bring flashlights, a blanket, snacks and bug spray.

Sandown gears up for Old Home Days

SANDOWN — Numerous activities are scheduled for Old Home Days this year.

The annual celebration will be Aug. 9-11 at several locations throughout town, including Central School.

The event kicks off that Friday night with the ham and bean supper at Town Hall at 5. Activities on Saturday include a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m., a frog-jumping contest, a road race and fun run, numerous performances, and the Fire Department’s chicken barbecue and fireworks.

Sunday begins with the Old Home Day service at the Old Meetinghouse at 11 a.m. That will be followed by the police and firefighter softball game at noon, among other activities.

WINDHAM — The second annual Timothy Morris SCI Rehabilitation 5K Race/Walk will be Aug. 3 at 9 a.m. at Windham High, 64 London Bridge Road.

Morris, a Hudson resident who grew up in Windham, suffered a spinal cord injury in a traffic accident six years ago.
