Woman charged after I-93 pursuit

SALEM — A Marlborough, Mass., woman was jailed after police said she led them on a short pursuit, allegedly drunk behind the wheel.

New Hampshire State Police received numerous calls about an erratic driver heading south on Interstate 93 Sunday night.

Police received multiple reports just past 8 p.m. of a car in the area of Exit 5 in Londonderry. The car was identified as a 2007 Honda with Massachusetts plates.

State Trooper M.P. Lapierre spotted the vehicle soon after in Windham. He tried to stop the car, which drove into the weigh station near Exit 3, police said.

But the driver didn’t stop, instead accelerating back onto I-93 south.

Lapierre continued to pursue the Honda, which continued into Salem, still on I-93.

With the help of two other state troopers and Salem police officers, Lapierre stopped the car near Exit 1.

But the driver, 45-year-old Margaret Flynn, refused to get out of the car, according to police.

The officers removed her and took her into custody after a brief struggle.

Flynn was charged with aggravated DWI, disobeying a police officer and resisting arrest. She was jailed overnight and was arraigned in 10th Circuit Court in Salem yesterday. She was released on bond.
