ANDOVER — The Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce 2014 Golf Spectacular is scheduled for July 14 at the Indian Ridge Country Club.
The cost to play is $185 per person. There will be an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Included is breakfast, hot buffet dinner with roast beef carving station and a gift for all golfers. The chamber will also hold its annual silent auction, for which organizers are still seeking contributions of items and goods that could include sports event tickets, clothing, trips and hotel certificates.
There will be long-drive prizes for both men and women and prizes for closest to the pin on all par 3s.

Circus movedto airport
NORTH ANDOVER — The Kelly Miller Circus is coming to town.
Visitors can enjoy various circus acts like trapeze artists, clowns and lions for just $10. The location has been moved to the Lawrence Municipal Airport on Sutton Street. The shows are this Saturday and Sunday at 2 and 5 p.m. The event is hosted by the North Andover Lions Club. The event is sponsored by Wheelabrator Technologies, a waste-to-energy facility in town.
Discover howroller coasters work
HAMPSTEAD — Children in kindergarten and up are invited to learn more about the inner-workings of roller coasters at Hampstead Public Library on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
The event will go over the physics behind amusement park rides, and participants will make a scale model of their dream roller coaster. No advance sign-up is necessary.

ATKINSON — Children ages 10 to 19 invited to make sparks and candles at Kimball Library on July 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Attendees will be given a chance to make a spark or flame from flint, and later make candles out of sand and with geometric designs.
