WINDHAM — Actor Stephen Collins will perform his one-man show, “Unlaunch’d Voices, an Evening with Walt Whitman” at Nesmith Library.
Collins portrays an elderly Whitman and, as he reminisces about his youth, the audience is taken back in time to trace his experiences through poetry and readings of his letters.
The two-part performance will take place today at 6 p.m. It is free and open to the public, but registration is recommended.
Attendees can call the library at 432-7154 or visit Collins’s website at unlaunchedvoices.com for more information about the show.

The shop’s hours are Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
A crew of volunteers from the Friends of the Hampstead Public Library staff the shop, sort through the bags of clothes donated to the shop, and set them out on racks, tables and shelves.
Donations of clean, gently used, good-quality clothing may be brought to the library any time it’s open. Don’t overload bags of donations.
Proceeds from the thrift shop sales are used by the Friends of the Library to provide items in the library that are not covered by the town budget.
