Pelham Library celebrates Shark Day

PELHAM — Shark Day is tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. at Pelham Public Library, 24 Village Green.

Participants will watch a shark film, create shark jaws and decorate shark cupcakes.

Social to commemorate Korean War armistice

PELHAM — The John H. Hargreaves Memorial VFW Post 10722, 6 Main St., will host a coffee social Saturday at 9:30 a.m. to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Korean War armistice.

People will be able to watch televised services being held at the Korean War Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Enjoy ice cream and music

ATKINSON— Atkinson Recreation invites everyone to an ice cream social and summer concert by the Timberlane Community Band on Aug. 1 on the front lawn of Town Hall.

Girls, sign up for lacrosse camp

PELHAM — Pelham Recreation’s lacrosse camp for girls, open to girls ages 7 to 14, will be held the week of Aug. 5 at Raymond Memorial Athletic Fields.

Kingston book sale set for Aug. 3

KINGSTON — Kingston Community Library offers its annual book sale Saturday, Aug. 3, during Kingston Days.

The presale is 8 to 9 a.m. Admission is $5. The regular sale is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with no admission charge.

The Buck-A-Bag Sale is from noon to 2 p.m. when a bag full of paperbacks and soft-cover books costs $1. A bag of hard-cover books costs $2.
