SANDOWN — A motorcyclist was flown to a Boston hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash yesterday on Route 121A.
The motorcyclist, traveling south on Route 121A, collided with a car near the Pillsbury Road intersection about noon, fire Chief Wilfred Tapley said.
A medical helicopter landed in the park-and-ride lot on Stage Road in Hampstead to fly the unidentified man to the hospital. Although the motorcyclist was conscious, his injuries were life-threatening,Tapley said. The man was wearing a helmet, he said. The driver of car, heading north, was not injured and the vehicle received minor damage, Tapley said.
No details on the accident, including the names of the drivers, were available from police. Firefighters from Sandown, Hampstead and Derry responded to the crash, along with a Trinity Ambulance crew. Sandown and Hampstead police and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department also responded.
Tapley praised the quick of emergency personnel. The crash briefly delayed traffic along Route 121A.
