Salem training facility supports cancer research

SALEM — Each year in New Hampshire, more than 1,000 women are newly diagnosed with breast cancer. On May 25, EFX Fitness Revolution teamed up with the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition to help fight the disease. Funds raised by EFX will provide financial assistance to New Hampshire breast cancer patients and support work underway to end breast cancer.

Michael Bistany, owner of EFX Fitness Revolution, organized the event for customers and friends.

“When we learned about the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition, we decided to organize a local, community event to support the cause,” Bistany said. “We wanted to promote health and help New Hampshire breast cancer patients at the same time.”

Exercise matters when it comes to women’s health.

“Exercise has been shown to reduce a woman’s risk of breast cancer,” said Nancy Ryan, president of the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition. “Proceeds from this event will stay right here in New Hampshire to support our mission to advocate for women fighting the disease. We are proud to be selected as the beneficiary of this event.”

EFX Fitness Revolution is a private personal training facility with two locations, Salem and Manchester.

The New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition is a statewide, all volunteer, grassroots organization whose mission is to advocate for and provide assistance to New Hampshire residents with breast cancer.

NHBCC maintains a web-based breast cancer resource guide, offers a Support Services Fund to assist breast cancer patients financially, and supports the National Breast Cancer Coalition. Call 659-3482 or go to nhbcc.org for more information.
