HAMPSTEAD — St. Anne Church at 26 Emerson Ave. is holding its 21st Annual Lakes Race on Saturday, July 27. This is a five-mile race on a USATF certified course.
Check-in and same-day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. on July 27. Both the race and the 5K non-competitive Fun-Walk will begin at 9 a.m.
Trophies will be presented to the top three runners from each age and sex division: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80-plus. There will also be refreshments after the race.
Pre-registration is $25 and includes a Table Talk pie and official race T-shirt. Registration within one week of the race is $30 with no guarantee of pie or shirt. You may also register for the ever-popular “I don’t want to race, I don’t want to walk; I just want a pie and a T-shirt” category. You can register online at active.com by searching for “Lakes Race.”
The Lakes Race is just one part of an action-packed day at the 32nd annual St. Anne Summerfest, which includes games for all ages, free live entertainment on stage, bounce tents, face painting, a craft and art fair, gift baskets, a bake sale, a baking competition, grill fare and refreshments, a silent auction, and cash and gift raffles.
Admission to the Summerfest is free, as is parking. The event is handicapped accessible.
