Windham police investigate vandalism complaints

WINDHAM — Police are investigating several recent cases of vandalism in the Faith Road neighborhood.

The first occurred at night April 5, when a vehicle’s tires were slashed when it was parked overnight in a driveway on Faith Road, Capt. Michael Caron said.

About two weeks later, at 2:45 a.m. Easter Sunday, a homeowner’s surveillance camera captured a person walking near the intersection of Faith and Scotland Roads with what looked like a gas can. The person, described as wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jeans and sneakers, could be seen pouring an unknown liquid in the driveway at that residence.

About half an hour later, at 3:15 a.m., police and fire responded to a vehicle fire at a home on Ridgemont Road. Caron said the cause of that fire has not been determined.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to call Detective VanHirtum at 434-5577 or email police@windhampd.com.
