PLAISTOW — The June artist of the month at Plaistow Public Library is Craig O’Neill.
He works in many different media and his paintings cover a wide range of subjects. His recent work focuses on capturing a mood, being interactive, or telling a story.
Marie Leone has loaned the library her Native American items for display in the cases and are quite interesting to see.
Cribbage meets every Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m.
After School Adventures meets Thursday, June 12, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Busy Bears will meet June 13 and June 20 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Remember those cool B-Sci-Fi flicks? “The Crawling Eye,” “The Brain that Wouldn’t Die,” “Creature from the Black Lagoon” and many more?
The library has just gotten in a good group of these movies for patrons’ viewing pleasure. There are also some classic horror films with Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff. Pop some popcorn and have a fun movie night.
The library has many different topics, hobbies and special interest magazines to check out. Adults, teens and kids are all covered. Some of the topics are model trains, alternative music, gardening, cooking, money, fashion, boating, sports, history, quilting, jewelry making, crafts and more.
The library has a collection of museum passes available for checkout. They have 11 passes to offer to area museums, including seven in Massachusetts and four in New Hampshire. See what they are all about on the website, plaistowlibrary.com.
A book sale is always going on inside the library. The selection is always changing, so come down to check it out. Proceeds benefit the library.
