Sanborn hosts several holiday performances

---- — KINGSTON — Students in the Sanborn Regional School District are gearing up for several holiday performances.

They begin Friday and Saturday, when Sanborn Middle School students perform “A Christmas Carol” at 7 p.m. in the Sanborn Regional High School auditorium.

The middle school band and chorus perform in concert Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Memorial Elementary School students perform a band concert Thursday, Dec. 6., at 7 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium.

Students from the high school perform a band, choral and jazz concert at their school at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12. Bakie Elementary School students put on their own concert in the high school auditorium Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.

It’s time for

Festival of Trees

PLAISTOW — The 2012 Festival of Trees opens Friday and continues through Sunday at Plaistow Town Hall.

The Christmas tree lighting and caroling will start at 4 p.m. Sunday at Town Hall. Santa will be there, too, and refreshments will be served.

The Festival of Trees will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Senior citizens honored guests at school’s tea

PLAISTOW — The Timberlane Middle School PTSA is sponsoring the school’s annual Senior Citizens’ tea on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

This popular event welcomes senior citizens from the Timberlane District, whether they have family or friends in the middle school or not, to a holiday celebration.

The festivities include entertainment by middle school musical groups, decorations prepared by the children, refreshments prepared by PTSA members and members of the community and a festive atmosphere. Parents and teachers work to help set up, serve and clean up. Volunteers to help with the tea are needed.

Guests will be presented with a small gift. Donations of small poinsettias for centerpieces on the tables would be appreciated. To help, call the school at 382-7131. Senior citizens planning to attend the event are also asked to call the office to RSVP.

Parking spaces will be available out front and along the side of the middle school, near the cafeteria.

Windham hosts shopping ‘extravaganza’ Saturday

WINDHAM — The Holiday Shopping Extravaganza will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Try chair yoga for strength, relaxation

HAMPSTEAD —There is a free chair yoga class at Hampstead Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 3 to 3:45 p.m.

This monthly class features non-impact exercises that are beneficial for men and women, teens and adults.

Participants move at their own pace, sitting, standing, or using a chair for support. The instructor is Maggie Morgan from the Yoga Room in Hampstead.
