N.H. launches winter driving website

By John Toole

---- — Winter driving is such a big deal in New Hampshire, the state Department of Transportation is dedicating a whole website page to it.

"We recognized the need on our website to give drivers a quick, one-stop location for winter driving information," DOT spokesman Bill Boynton said.

The page includes current conditions, driving tips, DOT's snow removal policy and answers frequently asked questions about plowing.

"Much of this information was already on our website, but was in different locations not easy to find," Boynton said. "Now we are working to put it all on one page that is easily accessible by clicking on the snowflake icon."

Visit nh.gov/dot and the icon is on the left side with the words, "Winter Driving in New Hampshire."

There are links to highway maintenance maps and traffic cameras.

Boynton promises there will be more.

"This is a start and we plan to keep adding to the page to make it more visual and user friendly," he said.
