Police seek tips in Kmart theft

---- — SALEM — On Nov. 21, Kmart reported the theft of nearly $3,322 worth of jewelry from the store on South Broadway.

The suspect, captured vy surveillance cameras, is described as between 25 and 30 years old, with short dark hair. He was wearing a black North Face jacket at the time.

The thief apparently lingered near the store jewelry counter for about five minutes, police said.

More than once, the man opening a spinning display case and removed gold and silver bracelets and necklaces.

Kmart loss prevention personnel did not find the suspect before he fled the area.

The Salem Police Department is looking for the public’s assistance in identifying the male subject in the photographs.
