---- — DERRY — A 29-year-old man was injured and allegedly intoxicated when he crashed a car on Chester Road early yesterday.
Alan Hart of 8 Happy Ave. in Derry was taken by ambulance to Parkland Medical Center following the single-car crash shortly before 2 a.m., police said.
Hart, who received minor injuries, was subsequently charged with driving intoxicated, according to Derry police Capt. Vern Thomas.
Several police officers and a Derry Fire Department crew responded to the accident to find a crashed red Ford Focus.
A blood sample was taken at the hospital to help confirm that Hart was intoxicated. Hart was issued a summons to appear in Circuit Court on Oct. 25.
No further details on the crash were available from police.
