---- — WINDHAM — Angel Gonzalez, 44, of Boston was identified yesterday as the victim of a fatal accident on Interstate 93 Wednesday night.

Gonzalez and his two passengers — Alyssa Jarvis, 27 of Randolph, Vt., and James Henley, 32, of Lynn — were outside their vehicle in the breakdown lane near Exit 3 south when they were struck by a Monte Carlo driven by a woman who has been charged with aggravated DWI.

Jarvis suffered serious injuries to his legs, according to New Hampshire State Police. Henley was not injured.

The three were outside their Honda Accord, standing near the trunk and preparing to change a flat tire. Pauline Kochniec, 47, of Berlin was heading south and apparently didn’t see the people or the car. Her car hit the back of the Accord and carried Gonzalez a short distance down the highway, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene of traumatic injuries.

Kochniec was taken to Elliott Hospital for evaluation and was charged with aggravated DWI. Police said more charges could be brought once the investigation is complete.

Officers from N.H. State Police Troop B responded, as did Windham Fire Department and Rescue, N.H. Department of Transportation, the state medical examiners office, the Rockingham County Attorneys Office and NHSP Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or can provide information about it is asked to call (603) 672-3333.
