Mass, driver charged with driving 114 mph on I-93

New Hampshire State Police continue to nab drivers traveling at more than 100 mph on the state’s highways, particularly on Interstate 93.

Yesterday morning, police arrested a Burlington, Mass., man for traveling at 114 mph in Bow.

Trooper First Class Sean Faherty, a member of the NHSP Special Enforcement Unit, was monitoring traffic on I-93 at 8 a.m. when he clocked a 2012 Ford Mustang going 114 mph.

The trooper stopped Lawrence Chiodi, 48 , just before the junction of I-93 and I-89.

Chiodi was processed at the Troop D barracks for reckless driving. He was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned in 6th District Court in Concord on Aug. 19.

The special NHSP unit regularly stops drivers traveling at high speed and for other aggressive driving behavior. Its members patrol the state during heavy commuter traffic periods and holidays.
