The Eagle-Tribune

---- — ATKINSON — Shop for local and fresh vegetables and fruits, eggs, honey, farm-raised meats and so much more at the Atkinson Farmers Market every Saturday through Oct. 12.

The markets are held at Freshwater Farms, off Route 111 at 1 Kip Cam Road, Atkinson. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Many new and interesting farmers and vendors are being added each week to the market.

This year there is also an opportunity to participate in Community Shared Agriculture. More details and the form can be found on atkinsonfarmersmarket.org under the “Vendors” tab. The website contains all current information and is updated regularly to reflect the farm/vendor list expected at each weekly market

At the market Saturday, there will be a new entertainer. Jim Barnes, a balladeer, singer-songwriter from Gilmanton Iron Works, writes, performs and records “New Hampshire flavored” music.

Barnes performs in many different venues all across the state, as well as in Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont. Many people have enjoyed his down-to-earth style of mixing music with stories and humor. Visit thefolkmusician.com.
