Mitt Romney returns to the Granite State next month to headline a state Republican party fundraiser Aug 6.
The event will be held in the Lakes Region near Romney’s summer home in Wolfeboro.
Tickets for the event will start at $100 and will be available through nhgop.org.
Further event details, including the location, will be released later this week. The fundraiser will be a private event and closed to the media.
Two Salem beaches under fecal bacteria advisories
SALEM — The state Department of Environmental Services has issued fecal bacteria advisories for two beaches — at Hedgehog Park and at the Arlington Pond Improvement Association Beach.
The advisories were issued late Tuesday and new test results will be available today.
At the same time, DES removed a similar advisory for the each at Hood Park in Derry.
Get ready for Lakes Race, Summerfest
HAMPSTEAD — St. Anne Church is holding its 21st annual Lakes Race on Saturday, July 27. This is a five-mile race on a certified course. The race begins at the church on 26 Emerson Ave.
Check-in and same-day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. July 27; both the race and the 5K Fun-Walk will begin at 9 a.m. Trophies will be presented to the top three runners from each age and gender division. There will also be refreshments after the race.
Pre-registration is $25 and includes a Table Talk pie and official race T-shirt. Registration within one week of the race is $30 with no guarantee of pie or shirt. Register online at active.com by searching for “Lakes Race.”
The Lakes Race is part of St. Anne Summerfest, which includes games for all ages, free live entertainment on stage, bounce tents, face painting, a craft and art fair, gift baskets, a bake sale, a baking competition, grill fare and refreshments, a silent auction, and cash and gift raffles.
