Athletic trainers announced for Timberlane

PLAISTOW — Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics will provide athletic training services to the Timberlane Regional School District for the 2013-14 school year.

Athletic trainers play an important role on the sidelines at any youth athletic event. They are often the first responders in the event of an injury and are responsible for determining an athlete’s safe return to play.

With the backing of sports medicine physicians, Dr. Joshua Siegel, Dr. David Davis and Dr. Kevin Heaton, the trainers are able to consult regularly on injury management, treatment protocols and decision-making on return to play.

Access Sports physicians will also provide home football game coverage and regularly scheduled clinics in the Timberlane Regional High School athletic training room.

Amanda Canning is the new head athletic trainer at Timberlane. She comes to Timberlane with experience as the head trainer at Nashua North High School for the past seven years. During her time at Nashua North, she was responsible for the care of 45 teams and developed several new programs for the athletic training department.

Stephanie Clark is the athletic trainer for Timberlane Regional Middle School. She was previously an assistant athletic trainer at Florida Gulf Coast University, where she had the opportunity to care for a number of men’s and women’s collegiate level athletic teams.

Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics gives back to the community through numerous events and donations that benefit both local and national charitable organizations. They encourage organizations in Plaistow and the surrounding communities to reach out with sponsorship opportunities.

Anyone who sees the athletic trainers or physicians at a game or practice is encouraged you to introduce yourself. Share questions, comments or concerns.
