---- — ATKINSON — Family Promise of Greater Rockingham County seeks sponsors for its Evening of Thanks & Giving on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Atkinson Resort and Country Club
The event will benefit Family Promise, which helps homeless families through its Interfaith Hospitality Network.
More than 15 young musicians, ages 6 to 17, will perform. There will also be a raffle, silent auction and appetizers.
Tickets are $25 per person. Atkinson Resort and Country Club is at 85 Country Club Drive.

Crossroads’ Golf needs sponsors
ATKINSON — Community Crossroads 24th annual Golf Challenge is set for Sept. 12 at Candia Woods Golf Links in Candia.

They also need sponsors at many levels, ranging from $150 to $2,000.

High court has new PIO
CONCORD — The New Hampshire Supreme Court announced yesterday that Carole Alfano, a lawyer and veteran New Hampshire communications specialist, has been appointed public information officer for the Judicial Branch.
Alfano succeeds Laura Kiernan, who founded the court’s public information office in 2001 and is retiring.

SALEM —Kelley Library announces its Science Fiction and Fantasy Book Club will start its fall meetings Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 7:30 p.m.
The first book to be discussed is “2312” by Kim Stanley Robinson.
Copies of the book are available through the library.
