HAMPSTEAD— The Hampstead Garden Club is preparing for its plant sale this month.

Before that, club members will be harvesting healthy and locally grown perennials. With the profits from the sale, the club maintains several major public gardens in town.

The club is looking for anyone with interesting plants from their garden that they would like to divide and donate to the plant sale. Help the garden club by calling Connie at 329-5047 as soon as possible.

Get rid of household hazardous waste

PLAISTOW — Residents of Plaistow, Atkinson, Danville, Kingston and Hampstead can bring their household hazardous waste to the Plaistow Municipal Household Hazardous Waste Program on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Recreation Facility off Old County Road.

The town of Plaistow will recycle items or dispose of them in an environmentally safe manner. Proof of residency is required.

Accepted items include: old gasoline, gas / oil mixture, brake fluid, transmission fluid, oils/ cleaners, oil based paints, paint stripper, varnish, antifreeze, mercury batteries, mercury (fluorescent ) lamps, mercury thermostats, mercury thermometers, batteries, fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and pool chemicals.

Do not bring radioactive, explosives, biological, infectious, fire extinguishers, medical wastes, ammunition or latex paint.
