---- — PLAISTOW — A man was arrested at Home Depot after he allegedly placed fake barcodes on eight sets of blinds.

Deputy police Chief Kathleen Jones said Marc Dentremont, 52, of Fall River, Mass., went into Home Depot on Plaistow Road with a set of bar codes that he had taken from his son’s science project.

Jones said Dentremont placed the stickers over the bar codes on eight sets of blinds.

Dentremont then went to purchase the blinds, which rung up at $222.08. The actual value of the blinds was $415.76 each.

Police said as Dentremont left the store, he was approached by a member of Home Depot’s loss prevention team. After a brief struggle, he was led back into the store where he was arrested by police.

Police charged Dentremont with a felony count of robbery and theft by deception. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance. His next court date is Aug. 5.
