---- — BRENTWOOD — A man accused of threatening to blow up Rockingham Superior Court has turned himself in to authorities.
Jonathan Long, 27, of Somersworth was arraigned this morning after surrendering at about 7 p.m. yesterday, according to Maj. Al Brackett of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department.
Long is being held at the county jail without bail.
He has been charged with calling in a bomb threat Tuesday morning that closed the court for nearly three hours and forced the evacuation of about 100 people.
Long was scheduled to be sentenced that morning for a felony conviction of falsifying evidence because he wanted to get out of jail early while serving time for another charge. Long forged a letter, purportedly from a doctor, saying he needed to be released to be with his sick child, Brackett said.
A grand jury indicted Long this morning on felony charges for phoning in the bomb threat and jumping bail because he failed to appear in court, Brackett said.
A trial has been scheduled for March, he said.
