WINDHAM — A man suffered a knife wound to the hand in an incident possibly related to prostitution yesterday afternoon, police said.
The incident happened about 1:30 p.m. in the area of Routes 111 and 28.
“This is an active investigation,” police Capt. Mike Caron said. “A male was transported to the hospital. We are still trying to figure it all out.”
The man, whom Caron would not identify, had approached people on Route 111, requesting help.
He had suffered an injury to the hand, but Caron said he did not know the severity.
A woman was taken into custody, but no charges had been filed, he said. The investigation is ongoing.
“She did pull a knife,” he said.
It was unclear whether any charges would be brought and Caron did not expect more details to be available until today.
