SALEM — Police responding to a complaint Tuesday evening about possible drug activity at Dunkin' Donuts on South Broadway arrested a Methuen man on an outstanding shoplifting warrant.
James Nolet, 28, was being held on $1,000 cash bail pending his arraignment on a bench warrant on shoplifting charges issued by Plaistow District Court.
Doughnut shop employees called police at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday to report a male subject using drugs in the store's bathroom. They told police the man was acting suspiciously and stayed in the bathroom for a long time. After he left, employees found a hypodermic needle in the restroom, according to Capt. Shawn Patten.
Police found Nolet in front of the nearby Cumberland Farms. He matched the description given to police by Dunkin' Donuts employees, Patten said.
