Pet of the Week

Zoe is an 8-year-old gray and white domestic shorthair cat. Her owners had to move out of town and couldn't take her with them.

She was a much loved cat that is finding it rather confusing to be in this new environment. She is sweet, but shy, and once she gets used to you will be your best friend.

Zoe is one of many cats and dogs available for adoption at the Salem Animal Rescue League, located off Route 28 behind Baron's Appliance. Adoption hours are Thursdays, from noon to 7 p.m., and Fridays through Sundays, from noon to 4 p.m.

Now through Jan. 6, SARL is highlighting its feline population. During this time, there are special adoption fees, and there will be a special program to show appreciation for previous cat adopters and senior citizens. Also, from Nov. 27-29 (Thanksgiving weekend), SARL will be holding its Holiday Fair, with many wonderful items for sale.

Update: Previous Pets of the Week, Teddy the dog and Batik the cat have been adopted.
