Services scheduled for Pelham priest

PELHAM — Funeral services have been scheduled for the Rev. Paul Ruzzo, the pastor of St. Patrick Church who died Monday night.

Ruzzo, 53, had served at St. Patrick since September 2008 and was appointed pastor at Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem in July 2005.

He had been a priest since 1983.

While in Salem, Ruzzo also was the chaplain of the Salem Police and Fire departments, according to Salem police Deputy Chief William Ganley. He also was the chaplain of several other police and fire departments.

In addition to Manchester, Ruzzo served at churches in Franklin, Dover and Litchfield.

A wake will be held at St. Patrick on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., with reception of the body at 4 p.m. and vespers at 7 p.m. Saturday, reception of the body will be at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral in Manchester with the funeral beginning at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Fatima Exceptional Citizens Week, P.O. Box 206, Gilmanton Iron Works, NH 03837 or to New England Center for Children, 33 Turnpike Road, Southborough, MA 01772-2108.

    HAMPSTEAD - Selectman Sean Murphy told the crowd at last night's deliberative session that he changed his mind about the $1.53 million warrant article to build a new police station.
    Murphy voted not to recommend the plan to build a 7,600-square-foot, one-story facility on Veterans Way in January. But he told more than 50 people at last night's meeting he now feels differently.
