WINDHAM — Two drivers were transported to area hospitals after a two-vehicle crash yesterday morning on Route 28.
The crash took place at 10:45 a.m., near Roulston Road by Windham Auto Village, Windham police said.
Leo Rochon, 29, of Derry was driving north in a 1998 Dodge pickup truck. He hit the brakes and struck a 1996 Ford Explorer, which was pulling out of the Windham Auto Village parking lot, police said.
The Explorer, hit in the area of the driver's door, was driven by Paul Dimario, 49, of Salem, police said.
Firefighters had to extricate Dimario by cutting open the vehicle, police said. Both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The Windham Police Department's traffic accident reconstruction team also responded. It is investigating the crash.
Excessive speed and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors at this time, police said.
