Neighbors Helping Newborns need help

KINGSTON — Neighbors Helping Newborns will meet Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon at Kingston Congregational Church, 6 Church St.

The sewing project is 30-inch-square quilts. Also, participants can knit or crochet, sort donations and pack layettes.

They accept donations of new or gently used preemie, newborn and 0-to-3-month clothes, blankets, etc.

They need knit or crocheted hats, with no ties, sized to fit a 4-inch ball.

Jewelry salestarts tomorrow

EAST HAMPSTEAD — There will be a jewelry sale today through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Hampstead Union Church, 225 E. Main St.

There will be costume jewelry, estate and craft jewelry, watches and other items.

Donations of used and broken jewelry are appreciated. Proceeds benefit the church’s operating fund.

Library shows Islamic art film

KINGSTON — Kingston Community Library will host for a film viewing and discussion of “Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World” on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m.

It’s an epic journey across nine countries and more than 1,400 years of history. Professors Jonathan Bloom and Sheila Blair of Virginia Commonwealth University will lead this film discussion.
