Attempted murder suspect indicted

Valentin faces 27 charges in two states stemming from Salem case


When police interviewed the woman after the Salem incident, she told them Valentin had tormented her after she broke up with him. She obtained a restraining order after an incident Oct. 29 when he allegedly broke into the Lawrence apartment where she was staying and threatened her and a friend with a knife.

In Massachusetts, Valentin was indicted on breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony, assault by means of a dangerous weapon (two counts), aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery, stalking, kidnapping and 13 counts of violation of a protective restraining order.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on the Massachusetts charges Jan. 29 in Salem Superior Court.
