Fireworks start tonight in Southern N.H.

Fireworks start tonight in Southern New Hampshire, with shows planned in Hampstead and Windham.

:Derry: Parks and Recreation hosts the annual fireworks display on July 4 beginning at dusk, approximately 9 p.m. Rain date is July 5. Best viewing areas are from Hood Commons, along Tsienneto Road, Folsom Road and Crystal Avenue. Town parks and beaches will be open, weather permitting.

Hampstead: The annual fireworks display will be tonight at dusk at Meetinghouse Park on 11 Main St. The rain date is tomorrow. Prior to the fireworks, there will be field festivities starting around 3 p.m at the park and there will be a midway starting in the early evening.

Pelham: Independence Day Celebration, 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, Pelham Elementary School, Marsh Road. Activities start at 4 p.m. Fireworks should start around 9 p.m. Rain date is July 6.

Plaistow: Old Home Day is today on the front lawn on Town Hall starting at 7 a.m. Events continue throughout the day with a magic show, scavenger hunt, road race and a baby contest. The fireworks display planned for this evening was postponed late yesterday, police said, due to weather concerns.

Salem: Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. on July 4 at Grant Field behind Salem High School on Geremonty Drive. There will be fire safety trailer tours conducted by the Salem fire department and concessions will be available. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Canobie Lake Park will present fireworks displays choreographed to music over Canobie Lake on four consecutive nights, July 3-6, weather permitting.

:Windham: Fireworks will be on Town Day today at Windham High, London Bridge Road. Parking lot opens 5:30 p.m. The concert is at 7 p.m. with fireworks at 9:15 p.m. Canobie Lake Protective Association holds its Fourth of July boat parade Thursday, July 4, at 1 p.m. from Rocky Point.
