Register for Halloween events in Plaistow

PLAISTOW — The Recreation Department is asking residents to register in advance for toddler trick-or-treating Oct. 26

The 10th annual event is from 10 a.m. to noon at Town Hall. Businesses and town departments within walking distance of Town Hall will participate, and a map to the locations will be provided for trick-or-treaters.

Children should be in costume and be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required in advance so businesses can plan their treats.

That evening, Plaistow Recreation will partner with the Pollard Elementary School PTA for the eighth annual pumpkin lighting. Residents are encouraged to bring their carved pumpkins to the gazebo behind Town Hall between 5 and 6:15 p.m.

Pumpkins will be lighted about 6:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the scariest, most decorative and most “Halloweeny” pumpkin.

The event will also include music, games, face painting, pony rides and a bounce house. There will also be cider and doughnuts.

Trick-or-treating is Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The town asks people to wear bright clothing and to go trick-or-treating in their own neighborhoods. Parents should check all treats before children eat them.

For more information or to register for toddler trick-or-treating, contact the department at 382-5200 or email ccruz@plaistow.com.
