At the Open House, visitors can take a tour of the Haverhill campus, learn about financial aid, and explore the college’s more than 70 academic programs. Topics to be discussed will include transfer options after graduating from Northern Essex, the support services available to help students succeed, and the many clubs, sports, and other opportunities available to Northern Essex students.

This Open House is geared toward high school juniors and seniors and their families as well as adult students who are considering returning to school for career or personal growth.

Candidates forum slated in Salem

SALEM — The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a candidates forum Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Salem High School.

The forum, held in the Media Center, will begin with a panel questioning the two Senate District 22 candidates, Republican incumbent Chuck Morse of Salem and Democrat Victoria Czaia of Atkinson. District 22 represents Atkinson, Pelham, Plaistow and Salem.

At 7:30 p.m., the state representative candidates will speak. Salem has nine Democratic and nine Republican candidates seeking the nine seats in House District 8. The election is Nov. 6.

Aromatherapy class set in Plaistow

PLAISTOW — An aromatherapy class will be offered Thursday at Timberlane Regional High School, 36 Greenough Road.

The class, called “12 Oils of Ancient Scripture & Healing Foods” is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The cost is $25, plus $5 for materials. This class is required for anyone taking the raindrop technique class Nov. 3.
